2. How and why we use information
We use information to answer enquiries; manage accounts; check stock; process and deliver orders; verify payments; handle returns, refunds and warranties; prevent fraud; secure and improve the site; keep legally required records; comply with lawful requests; and send direct marketing only where permitted. Depending on the circumstances, processing is necessary for a contract, a legal obligation or a legitimate interest, or is based on consent.
3. Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies support the cart, checkout, security and sessions. We may use WooCommerce, Jetpack/Automattic, Google Site Kit and related Google analytics or performance services. Where required, non-essential cookies will follow your consent choices. Browser controls can block cookies, but blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the store from working.
4. Sharing information
We share only what is reasonably necessary with SMD Technologies for stock, fulfilment or warranty support; payment providers shown at checkout; The Courier Guy or another approved courier; hosting, security, email, analytics and IT providers; professional advisers; and regulators or law-enforcement bodies where legally required. Service providers must use the information for the relevant purpose and subject to applicable safeguards.
5. Cross-border processing
Some technology providers may process information outside South Africa. We take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate legal basis and safeguards apply as required by POPIA.
6. Retention and security
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, contracts, warranties, disputes, fraud prevention and legal record-keeping. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, although no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights and direct marketing
Subject to law, you may ask whether we hold your information; request access or correction; request deletion where permitted; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of direct marketing. We may verify your identity before acting. Marketing messages will include a reasonable unsubscribe method. Essential order, delivery, return and security messages are not marketing.
8. Children
The store is intended for customers legally able to transact. We do not knowingly collect a child’s information without the authorisation or other lawful basis required by South African law.
9. Contact and complaints
Contact admin@quiczy.co.za for privacy requests or complaints. You may also complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator through its official website at inforegulator.org.za.
10. Pre-launch address disclosure
Quiczy is currently in Coming Soon mode. A non-residential public legal-service and returns address will be published before checkout and order acceptance are enabled. Until then, use admin@quiczy.co.za for privacy enquiries.
